Privacy Policy

What this site does

WA Labor Intelligence publishes aggregated public labor market data for Washington State, including wage statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and WARN notices from the Washington State Employment Security Department. All labor market data shown on this site is public information about employers and occupations — not about you.

Information we collect

We do not require accounts or personal details to browse this site. If the optional newsletter form is enabled and you choose to subscribe, your email is sent directly to the configured newsletter provider so it can deliver messages and process unsubscribes. If analytics are enabled, we collect standard, aggregated usage information (pages visited, approximate region, device type) to understand how the site is used. Analytics only run after you accept optional services in the cookie banner.

Cookies

We use one necessary cookie to remember your privacy choice. Optional analytics and advertising services load only after you accept them. You can decline them without losing access, honor Global Privacy Control, or reopen “Cookie preferences” in the footer.

Third-party services

When enabled and accepted, this site may use Google Analytics for usage measurement and Google AdSense for display ads. These providers have their own privacy policies governing the data they process. No Google-hosted fonts are loaded by this site.

How long we keep information

We do not operate our own analytics database or user accounts, so there is no profile of you on our servers to retain. Retention applies only to the third-party services above, and only if you accept them:

• Your privacy choice is stored in a single cookie on your device for up to 12 months. Clearing your browser data removes it, and you will be asked again.
• Analytics data, if accepted, is held by Google Analytics under the retention period configured for our property, after which Google deletes user-level records. Aggregate reporting may persist beyond that.
• Newsletter subscriptions, if you subscribe, are held by our email provider until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any message.

Public labor market data — wages, WARN filings, and household wealth estimates — is retained indefinitely as a historical archive. It describes employers and occupations, not site visitors.

Your privacy rights

Washington's My Health My Data Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and similar state laws give residents rights over personal information held about them. Because this site does not require accounts and does not build visitor profiles, we typically hold no personal information about you to disclose, correct, or delete. Where we do — a newsletter subscription, or analytics data tied to your device after you accept it — you may:

• Ask what information is held and request a copy.
• Ask that it be corrected or deleted.
• Opt out of analytics and advertising at any time — decline in the cookie banner, reopen “Cookie preferences” in the footer, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser, which this site honors automatically.
• Unsubscribe from the newsletter from any message it sends.

We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not process it for targeted advertising or profiling. Exercising these rights will never cost you access to anything on this site.

Requests about public WARN or wage records should go to the agency that publishes them — the Washington State Employment Security Department or the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics — since we reproduce their public records rather than originate them.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at the address above and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your saved privacy choice lasts up to 12 months; you can change it at any time through “Cookie preferences” in the footer without waiting for it to expire.
